Former Major Crimes and The Closer star Robert Gossett is set for a recurring role opposite Jennifer Carpenter and Morris Chestnut on NBC's new drama series The Enemy Within, from Gotham executive producer Ken Woodruff, Matt Corman, Chris Ord and Universal TV. Written and executive produced by Woodruff and with a pilot directed by Mark Pellington, The Enemy Within is a fast-paced thriller set in the world of counterintelligence. Gossett portrays Thomas Heffron, the dignified, yet grief-stricken father of Will Keaton's (Chestnut) murdered fiancee Laine. Heffron is as close to a father figure as Keaton has ever had in his life, and while the two men are bonded by their shared loss, Heffron struggles to accept Keaton's willingness to work with former CIA agent, Erica Shepherd (Carpenter), the person responsible for his daughter's death. Known for his starring roles on Major Crimes and The Closer, Gossett's recent credits include a recurring on Greenleaf and The Oath. Gossett is repped by Zero Gravity Management and GVA Talent Agency. The Enemy Within premieres February 25 at 10 PM on NBC.
