{blackbabes} Naomi & Vlad trade salvos

iTunes & App Store

The war continues between Naomi Campbell and her billionaire ex, Vladimir Doronin, over his new relationship with aspiring model Luo Zilin, whom Naomi mentored on her television show "The Face."

Sources say Naomi was fuming over Vlad seeing the former Miss China, 26, also known as Zi Lin, who was part of "Team Naomi" and a runner-up on the supermodel's Oxygen show.

After they were outed as a couple, Zi Lin was fired by her New York agency, Mix Model Management, with president Neal Hamil saying in a statement, "Zi Lin's contract . . . was terminated . . . due to ongoing unprofessional conduct and unacceptable work ethic." Naomi's camp denied she had used her influence in the fashion world to kill Zilin's career.

A source close to Vlad — who has been divorced from Russian gal Ekaterina since 2010, according to documents seen by Page Six — tells us, "The desperate lies and misinformation coming from Naomi's camp about Vlad and Luo are astounding. Naomi was working the phones, pushing to get Luo ousted. She said, 'Jump,' and [Luo's agency] said, 'How high?'

"Vlad and Luo are serious and are looking forward to a future where Naomi will stop harassing them both and they can all get on with their lives in peace."

Meanwhile, Naomi has been getting some emotional support from her supermodel pal Kate Moss. Sources tell us that fellow British beauty Moss had "practically moved in" with Naomi, who has had "a tough few weeks after splitting with Vlad."

A source close to Naomi said, "She is feeling a lot better and has put it all behind her. She is focusing on her show."

Naomi has been in London filming the British version of her US hit "The Face" and has repeatedly been seen with Moss. The pair partied with Grace Jones until 5 a.m. after attending the glamorous Serpentine Summer party in London on Wednesday evening. Reps for both Vlad and Naomi didn't comment.

Rihanna

Rihanna is paying tribute yet again to her late grandmother Clara "Dolly" Braithwaite.

This time, via Instagram with a touching photo and note, honoring the anniversary of her death.

The singer writes: "Today marks one year since you crossed the bridge! Still you never left...I can still remember your laugh, and I miss it, I miss the sound of your voice, your beautiful hands, the way you danced and got so happy when you heard music, I miss doing your makeup and taking your pictures, I miss the way you looked right at me, and I miss looking back at you, that proud look on your face!"

Her touching tribute continues: "Never did I think it could be this soon, but I'm happy you're in Heaven, laughing and dancing with the Angels! Dolly you are my precious Angel, I love you beyond what words can describe! I just miss you Gran Gran! #Dolly #FirstAnniversary"

Rihanna paid tribute to Dolly back in December when she passed away by donating $1.75 million to the radiotherapy department at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown, which is now renamed the Clara Braithwaite Centre for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine.

RIP, Dolly!

{blackbabes} Serena faces Date with destiny on the line

TimeLife.com

LONDON, June 28 (Reuters) - Kimiko Date-Krumm originally retired two years before Serena Williams, her third round opponent at Wimbledon, set foot on the All England Club's lush lawns for the first time.

Williams, bidding for a sixth Wimbledon title, is considered a veteran of the sport herself at 31, but she is no match in age for the 42-year-old Japanese, who is the oldest female player to reach this stage of the tournament in the professional era.

The pair have surprisingly never met during their lengthy careers, an anomaly that will end when the American defending champion faces Date-Krumm on Court One on Saturday.

The popular Japanese player is enjoying an Indian Summer in her career having returned to the circuit in 2008, following a 12-year hiatus.

She first walked away from tennis in 1996, months after losing a close Wimbledon semi-final to the great Steffi Graf.

Date-Krumm, ranked 84, is a lengthy outsider to cause an upset against the dominant force in the women's game who is currently on a 33-match winning streak.

The world number one, however, is not expecting to have everything her own way.

"She returns unbelievable shots," said Williams. "It doesn't matter how hard you hit it, she sees the ball and gets it back."

Novak Djokovic headlines the action in the men's draw on Centre Court Saturday, with the top seed facing France's number 28 seed Jeremy Chardy in a third round match.

{blackbabes} BET kicks off live music festival with Beyonce ahead of awards

wine.com wine.com

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Singer Beyonce will kick off the first BET three-day music festival on Friday, ahead of the BET awards this weekend, as the network hopes to attract more fans to music and comedy by black artists.

The annual BET awards, now in its 13th year, celebrate black musicians, actors and athletes across a variety of categories spanning music, film and sport. It is televised on the cable TV network BET, Black Entertainment Television, part of Viacom Inc.

The BET Experience is the first weekend music festival to be hosted by a television network, BET said in a statement.

Stephen Hill, president of music programming and special events at BET Networks, said the music festival aims to give fans a more inclusive experience.

"What we noticed through the years was that people would come out. They had tickets to the awards and they'd come for the weekend ... and people came just to be in the atmosphere of the awards, even if they didn't have tickets," Hill said.

Male artists lead this year's BET awards nominees with R&B singer Drake landing 12 nominations, followed by rappers Kendrick Lamar and 2 Chainz with eight nominations each, and rapper A$AP Rocky with five.

Rapper Jay Z, singer Justin Timberlake and R&B crooner Miguel picked up four nominations each, while Rihanna led the female artists with three nominations. Beyonce and Nicki Minaj scored one nod each.

Film nominees include Jaden Smith, Oscar-nominated newcomer Quvenzhane Wallis, Jamie Foxx, Samuel L. Jackson, Halle Berry and Kerry Washington.

Olympic gymnast Gabrielle Douglas, tennis stars Serena and Venus Williams, and basketball star Kevin Durant are among the sports nominees.

Ahead of Sunday's awards ceremony in downtown Los Angeles, the network will host numerous events at the L.A. Live collection of venues ranging from small clubs holding a few hundred people to the Nokia Theater, which can host an audience of more than 2,000.

BET said it is expecting about 100,000 people to attend events during the festival, which will include film screenings, comedy concerts, celebrity appearances and musical performances.

Snoop Dogg, Miguel, Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole are among the top-billed performers at the BET Experience. Tickets start at $49 for individual performances to almost $4,000 for an all-access package.

Hill said he hopes the variety of artists and performances will entice fans.

"People have encouraged other people to sample more music from different genres, different eras. Festivals are catered to that," Hill said.
