{blackbabes} Jada Pinkett Smith Talks Controversy Surrounding Willow's Photo: "Don't Pollute Something That's Not Dirty"

GameStop, Inc.

Fuse (Deluxe Version) - Keith Urban / Blown Away - Carrie Underwood

Jada Pinkett Smith, TCA

Jada Pinkett Smith will laugh and joke about many things, but not when it comes to her family.

The actress and mother of two came to daughter Willow Smith's defense again during an interview with high-end shopping site Net-a-Porter, when she was asked about the controversial photo of her 13-year-old lying in bed with a shirtless Moisés Arias, 20.

"Just don't pollute something that's not dirty," she says, shaking her head. "It's really tough. I feel like the connection to the value of women on a bigger scale has decreased tremendously. Even though you look and go, ‘Women have so many opportunities,' it's like, ‘Yeah, but at what cost?'

"Are women valued for being women, or are women valued when they have more masculine qualities? Men and women encompass both female and masculine energies, but it seems like when the feminine is present, it's not respected."

Moises Arias, Willow Smith

Pinkett Smith also noted earlier in the interview, "I want my kids to be happy and I want them to be themselves. I was saying to a friend the other day, ‘Remember, our kids are not us.' They're not. Sometimes we're trying to fix things that happened to us or projecting [onto them], and that's a terrible, terrible trap."

Speaking of her family life, Jada also opened up about her marriage to funnyman Will Smith, gushing about how much the actor means to her and confessing that it took some time to get to where they're at.

"We used to have all these rules, [but] as you go on in your relationship, you just get into a flow," she says. "The thing I love is being in a place where it's just like, Will, to me, encompasses everything. It's almost as if calling him 'my husband' is too small of a word for what he means in my life—and especially how I feel we, as women, identify the idea of a husband.

Jada Pinkett Smith, Will Smith

"I really had to mature and expand that. I think I had a very stuck idea of what a husband looks like, what a wife should be. Once I broke all of that, a whole new world opened for me and man, oh, man, I got to see him in all his glory. And so that's what it's evolved into. And I'm just ecstatic about it."

As for all of the tabloid rumors that surround their relationship, Pinkett Smith says they don't even pay it any mind.

"The coping technique is knowing what the truth is— here's no better technique. When you know that what's going on in your house is so the opposite [of what's being said], and you also know that when there's mystery, people fill in the gaps, that's OK," she says. "And then you look back at it and look at how creative people can be, and it's kind of entertaining. We can laugh because it's so ridiculous. But I get it. I don't take it personally."

{blackbabes} Five women to watch in Rogers Cup Montreal

GameStop, Inc.

Fuse (Deluxe Version) - Keith Urban / Blown Away - Carrie Underwood

TORONTO — The Rogers Cup begins with qualifying Saturday and the first round begins Monday at Uniprix Stadium in Montreal. Here are five players to watch:

Serena Williams

A winner of this tournament in two of the past three years, Williams is coming off a disappointing Wimbledon loss to Alize Cornet in the round of 32. Williams has had a difficult time of late, but last year’s U.S. Open champion is always a threat to win, especially on hard courts.

Petra Kvitova

The fourth-ranked player in the world beat Eugenie Bouchard quite handily in the Wimbledon final. Kvitova is set to be the third seed at the Rogers Cup as she hunts for her first hard-court title in 2014.

Maria Sharapova

The French Open champion is trying to win her first U.S. Open since 2006. Montreal is the next step on that path, as Sharapova will be the fifth seed in a tournament she has never won.

Eugenie Bouchard

Playing some of the best tennis of her life, the 20-year-old returns to her hometown with the chance to add to her already-impressive resume. Bouchard withdrew from the Citi Open in Washington, but more because she wanted to rest up for this tournament than because of injury.

Caroline Wozniacki

After her breakup with golfer Rory McIlroy, Wozniacki lost her first match at the French Open but has since won a tournament, July’s Istanbul Cup. Wozniacki, the champion of this event in 2010, has come closer to winning the hard-court U.S. Open than any other Grand Slam.

{blackbabes} Beyoncé and Jay Z Hold Hands, Look Crazy in Love Amid Ongoing Split Rumors-See the Pics!

GameStop, Inc.

Fuse (Deluxe Version) - Keith Urban / Blown Away - Carrie Underwood

Beyonce, Jay-Z

Beyoncé and Jay Z are together, y'all...Any questions?

Well, Blue Ivy's parents were a lovey-dovey, smiling picture of a happily married couple onstage Wednesday night when their On the Run tour took over Seattle's Safeco Field. At one point, Queen Bey, 32, and Hov, 44, could barely contain their grins as they stared into one another's eyes. Then there was a tender moment when the "Crazy in Love" duo held hands as they gleefully made their way across the stage.

Beyonce, Jay-Z

Between these public PDA moments and Bey's adorable Instagram snaps of her hubby and their little girl, it's clear that hip-hop's royal couple is putting up a united front. They've chosen to employ this "actions speak louder than words" tactic in the past to silence their critics.

Breakup rumors began to swirl about the couple back in May when leaked footage showed Bey's sister, Solange, physically attacking Jay in a hotel elevator after the Met Gala. A source told E! News at the time the scuffle was a result of Jay's allegedly inappropriate flirting with Rachel Roy, but Beyoncé issued a statement shortly afterwards insisting they had "moved forward as a united family."

A handful of head-scratching headlines have plagued the couple since then—including a New York Post report that a certain "Single Ladies" singer was shopping for a solo apartment—but Bey and Jay have made continuous efforts to keep up the public perception that they are the blissfully in love couple we all want them to be.

Beyoncé and Jay Z are as real as it gets. Otherwise, things are not looking good for the rest of us.

{blackbabes} Kelly Rowland Drops Hints About Baby Boy's Name

Stanley Cup Classics / NHL Greatest Rivalries, Vol. 5

Kelly Rowland‘s baby on the way really is destiny’s child.

“It was a surprise, I can definitely tell you that,” the expectant mom told PEOPLE while promoting Caress body wash in Los Angeles on Wednesday. “It was a great surprise!”

The singer, 33, is expecting her first child with husband Tim Witherspoon and said her pregnancy has been relatively easy. “I had no morning sickness,” Rowland said. “I feel great.”

Though Rowland said she’s had a “go with the flow” attitude when it comes to her changing body, she did admit it’s been a real adjustment.

“The most shocking thing about pregnancy to me is probably the way your body changes — nobody can prepare you for that. Not a book, not anything,” she said. “You just go through it.”

Rowland has also developed a very specific pregnancy craving: sandwiches!

“I love sandwiches right now,” said the mom-to-be, noting she has been sticking to a healthy diet overall. “I’m reading these different books and they’re telling me what food is really great for the baby, to grow their nervous system, and their brain food and all that, so I’ve been trying to stay on that.”

Rowland, who accidentally revealed she’s having a boy during an interview with FOX411 on Thursday, said she and Witherspoon already have a name picked out.

“The dad picked out the name. It has to do with family,” she hinted.

As for what she’s most looking forward to about motherhood, Rowland can’t wait for one special moment.

“When I see the baby’s face,” she said. “That’s it.”

{blackbabes} Serena wins first match since Wimbledon

TimeLife.com

STANFORD, Calif. — Top-ranked Serena Williams won in her first match since defaulting in a doubles match with sister Venus at Wimbledon, beating Karolina Pliskova 7-5, 6-2 on Wednesday in the second round of the Bank of the West Classic.

At Wimbledon, Williams tried to play through a viral infection that caused her to lose her equilibrium during the doubles match. On Wednesday night, encouraged by a large crowd, Williams fought through a tough first set before she found her legs and took control of the match with a big second set.

“I thought I played well,” Williams said. “I’m on the right path, I’m excited and I’m looking forward to my next match.”

In the quarterfinals, Williams will meet the winner of Thursday’s match between fifth-seeded Ana Ivanovic and U.S. qualifier Carol Zhao.

Williams casually deflected questions about her health, preferring to bring the conversation into the present.

“I’m still taking it a match at a time,” she said. “It worked out. I was feeling fine. I made some silly errors early because I was not on my toes enough.”

Pliskova managed to hold her serve most of the first set but did not have an answer once Williams found her own serve.

“I knew she’s a player that is tough to break so it was important to me to be super focused on my serve,” Williams said. “She served well and I tried to hang in there and get some break points.”

She finally managed to reach break point in the 12th game and took control from there. She was successful on all three break points she had.

Williams took some time off after Wimbledon and vacationed in Croatia before returning to the U.S. for the hardcourt season. She said she has been working hard in preparation for a run at the U.S. Open.

Earlier, Varvara Lepchenko beat second-seeded Angieszka Radwanska 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 to advance to the quarterfinals.

Lepchenko beat the fifth-ranked Radwanska for the first time in six meetings, edging a top-10 player for only the third time in 24 matches. Radwanska, the runner-up last year, became the highest seeded player to fall in the tournament.

The match was good,” Radwanska said. “I wasn’t serving enough.”

Lepchenko will face Sachia Vickery, the American qualifier who beat Monica Puig 6-7 (4), 6-2, 6-1 to reach her first career WTA Tour quarterfinal. Vickery also won two straight in the main draw for the first time. Her only previous victory came at last year’s U.S. Open in her WTA main draw debut.

Also, eighth-seeded Andrea Petkovic beat teenage qualifier Naomi Osaka, 6-2, 6-2. Petkovic will next meet the winner of Thursday night’s match between Venus Williams and Victoria Azarenka.

“It was so weird,” Petkovic said. “She’s 16 and obviously very talented. If I played solid I knew I had a good shot.”
