{blackbabes} Amar'e, Ciara club cuddle

Just days after we revealed they were cozying up together as a new couple, the Knicks' superstar center, Amar'e Stoudemire, celebrated the team's win over the New Jersey Nets with R&B singer Ciara at Meatpacking District hot spot SL. While their reps claimed the pair are just friends, the duo "looked extremely close Wednesday night," said one onlooker, who added, "She was sitting on his lap and whispering into his ear all night." While Amar'e and Ciara huddled in a banquette in the corner, they were surrounded by club security and other Knicks, including Landry Fields, Jared Jeffries, Roger Mason Jr. and Andy Rautins. Ciara met Stoudemire through LaLa Vazquez, who is one of her closest friends and married to teammate Carmelo Anthony. Reps for SL declined to comment.

{blackbabes} Jennifer Hudson's 'One Shining Moment' over: CBS drops her version of NCAA tournament-closing song

gamestop.com

Jennifer Hudson has the No. 2 album in the country, but she won't have the honor of closing out the NCAA tournament next week.

CBS has decided to drop her version of its tourney-closing song, "One Shining Moment," and go back to the previous version sung by the late Luther Vandross. The "American Idol" alum/Oscar winner's take on the song -- and CBS' production of the video montage after last year's tournament -- wasn't especially well-received by hoops fans, particularly the multiple cuts to Hudson singing, which meant that much less time for highlight clips.

"Both versions are great. [Hudson] did a great job," CBS Sports production chief Harold Bryant tells the Houston Chronicle. "We just felt like we wanted to go back to Luther."

"One Shining Moment" has had multiple singers since its debut in 1987 -- Teddy Pendergrass and the song's composer, David Barrett, did it before Vandross -- but the video montage that played along with it had always focused exclusively on action from the tournament prior to last year. Much of the negative reaction from fans of the decidedly cheesy but goosebump-inducing tune -- yeah, we admit it -- came from the cutaways to Hudson.

Hudson's version of the song from last year and the last time Vandross' track was used, in 2009, are below, for your compare-and-contrast enjoyment. Frankly, we're glad to have the old version back.

{blackbabes} Spears eyes Rihanna, Gaga song

Bare Necessities

Britney Spears is calling for her pop peers Rihanna and Lady Gaga to come together for a girl power collaboration.

The Toxic star is a big fan of her chart rivals and wants to team up with her fellow singers to record a powerful pop anthem.

When asked her thoughts on Rihanna and Lady Gaga, Spears tells London's Capital FM, "I feel like the genre of women today musically is astounding... that we can do that.

"I feel like we actually need to come together and do a song that can actually show how much power we do have - an idea like that would be astounding. That would be fun. A song together like that would be fun."

{blackbabes} The Talk's Holly Robinson Peete Gets Personal About Autism Awareness

Wal-Mart.com USA, LLC

She's fighting the good fight. Holly Robinson Peete is using her gig as cohost of The Talk to give a big plug to National Autism Awareness month. Each Friday in April (starting tomorrow), the CBS chat show will focus on various aspects of the developmental disorder — from inspiring stories of teens living with autism to sage advice for parents whose autistic children are moving into adulthood. Peete knows her stuff. She and her husband, former NFL star Rodney Peete, have four children, one of whom, 13-year-old RJ, was diagnosed with autism one day in 2000. She calls it her "never" day.

"Rodney and I sat across from a developmental pediatrician who listed all the things RJ would never do in life — from never being fully verbal to never playing sports, which was a stab in the stomach for my ex-quarterback husband," Peete says. "After that meeting, we sat in the car and just cried and cried in the most sad, helpless way. Then we got mad. 'How dare anyone tell us what our kid will never do! How dare anyone decide his future!'"

Soon after, the Peetes expanded the scope of their HollyRod Foundation (hollyrod.org) in order to provide compassionate care and support to families living with autism. The going was tough. "There were times I didn't think Rodney and I would make it as a couple," Peete admits. "He was in deep denial for so long. But once he adjusted his expectations and accepted that his son is not going to win the Heisman Trophy, he loved and embraced RJ for all that he is."

By the way, the once "hopeless" RJ recently won a national poetry award and gave an eloquent acceptance speech at the ceremony. You'll see video of it on The Talk.

Graydon Carter said he had no idea who Nicki Minaj was before she took the stage at the Bid to Save the Earth charity auction at Christie's on Tuesday night. He credited Vogue's director of special events, Sylvana Soto-Ward, with helping to book the pint-size rap star to perform. Diane Kruger, Anna Wintour, Gayle King, Michael Kors, Rachel Roy, Lauren Remington Platt and Vivi Nevo (who told us he was a fan of Minaj) also attended the "green auction" to benefit several environmental causes, emceed by funnyman Seth Meyers and Christie's Lydia Fenet. {blackbabes} Rihanna says doesn't want to hurt Brown's career

250 Recycled Paper Business Cards $4.75. TidySongs - Automatically Fix Your Music

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Singer Rihanna has told Rolling Stone magazine she agreed a judge could ease a stay away order against her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown over a violent altercation two years ago because she didn't want to hurt his career.

The 23-year-old told the music magazine it was "my decision" not to object to a Los Angeles judge's decision in February to downgrade a restraining order keeping Brown, 21, 50 yards away from Rihanna -- 10 yards at music industry events.

"It doesn't mean we're gonna make up or even talk again. It just means I didn't want to object to the judge," she told the magazine in an excerpt published Wednesday.

The singer added she had his music career in mind.

"We don't have to talk ever again in my life," she said. "I just didn't want to make it more difficult for him professionally. What he did was a personal thing -- it had nothing to do with his career. Saying he has to be a hundred feet away from me, he can't perform at awards shows -- that definitely made it difficult for him."

Rihanna's blunt admissions are a stark contrast to Brown, who last week threw an angry tantrum in the dressing room of a U.S. morning chat show after clamming up when an interviewer brought up the topic of his 2009 assault on Rihanna.

Brown, 21, was promoting his new album "F.A.M.E.," while Rihanna talked to Rolling Stone about one of her singles, "S&M," off her fifth studio album, "Loud," that spawned No. 1 hit singles including "Only Girl (In the World)".

Rihanna told Rolling Stone she put up a front in public after the assault.

"I put my guard up so hard. I didn't want people to see me cry. I didn't want people to feel bad for me. It was a very vulnerable time in my life, and I refused to let that be the image. I wanted them to see me as, 'I'm fine, I'm tough.' I put that up until it felt real."

About "S&M," she said that "being submissive in the bedroom is really fun. You get to be a little lady, to have somebody be macho and in charge...that's fun to me. I like to be spanked."

And the pop star even confesses to a bit of sexting, every so often: "When you're not with the person you want to be intimate with, a picture is the next best thing," she said.

The Rolling Stone issue with Rihanna hits newsstands on Friday, April 1.

{blackbabes} Rihanna recalls dad's beatings

250 Recycled Paper Business Cards $4.75. TidySongs - Automatically Fix Your Music

R&B beauty Rihanna has gone public about the beatings she experienced at the hands of her estranged father when she was growing up, revealing he once hit her so hard he left a hand imprint on her face.

The Umbrella hitmaker has rarely spoken fondly of her father and recently took aim at him for talking to the press after she was assaulted by ex-boyfriend Chris Brown in 2009.

But in a new Rolling Stone interview the star admits her resentment towards her father stems back to her childhood - and there's one beating she'll never forget.

She tells the publication, "He slapped me so hard. I ran home with his handprint on me. I couldn't believe it. My mother saw my face, how traumatized I was."

{blackbabes} Rihanna on Chris Brown: "We Don't Have to Talk Again Ever"

250 Recycled Paper Business Cards $4.75. TidySongs - Automatically Fix Your Music
Rihanna, Rolling Stone Cover

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, cover girl Rihanna answers questions regarding Chris Brown—and without destroying any dressing room windows, either!

When asked about recently allowing a judge to ease the terms of the five-year restraining order against her ex, the "S&M" singer says it felt like the right thing to do, even if it meant being criticized for it.

"You can never please people," Rihanna tells the mag. "One minute I'm being too hard, and the next minute I'm a fool because I'm not being hard enough."

But she's quick to point out that even though she and Brown are now allowed to actually interact with each other, she's certainly in no rush to do so.

"It doesn't mean we're gonna make up, or even talk again. It just means I didn't want to object to the judge," she says. "We don't have to talk again ever in my life. I just didn't want to make it more difficult for him professionally. What he did to me was a personal thing. It had nothing to do with his career. Saying he has to be a hundred feet away from me, he can't perform at awards shows, that definitely made it difficult for him. That was the only thing it was going to change, so I didn't care."

And while Rihanna seems to be making great strides when it comes to putting that painful part of her past behind her, that definitely wasn't the case immediately following Brown's assault on her two years ago.

"I put my guard up so hard. I didn't want people to see me cry. I didn't want people to feel bad for me," she says. "It was a very vulnerable time in my life, and I refused to let that be the image. I wanted them to see me as, 'I'm fine, I'm tough.' I put that up until it felt real."

Thankfully, it sounds like it's finally feeling real.

{blackbabes} Jessica White: I'm Not Guilty of Assault

250 Recycled Paper Business Cards $4.75. TidySongs - Automatically Fix Your Music

Jessica White: I'm Not Guilty of Assault
Jessica White says that right now is the best time in her life. But the model, who famously dated Sean Penn, has endured a painful past, she reveals.

Focusing on the happy place she's in now, White tells PEOPLE: "I'm living out every girl's dream." Currently, she is filming her own docu-series for Oxygen, launching a skincare line, starring in pal Kelly Rowland's new music video and working on her women's philanthropic organization, the Angel Foundation.

But life isn't perfect: In October, White was charged with assault and harassment after a physical altercation in New York City. Her trial begins in May.

"I never denied getting into an altercation," she says. "But people painted me to be the bad girl, which was 110 percent false."
Instead, White, 26, calls her involvement an act of self-defense. "I was flagging a cab, and she came from behind me and pushed me," White says.

While the Manhattan District Attorney's office declined to comment, alleged victim Vanessa Kian (who could not be reached for comment) claimed in the police report that the model struck her, "causing lacerations, swelling and substantial pain."

White, who says she has a video supporting her side of the story, adds: "I didn't strike her until she hit me in the face. I don't lash out at innocent people."

The rumors that the altercation was a result of her split from Sean Penn? More nonsense, according to White, who says, "I love Sean and wish him all the best."

A Painful Past

White, in fact, says that she hates violence, particularly because she was the victim of abuse herself. Revealing her story for the first time, White explains that as a child in Buffalo, New York, she not only watched helplessly as her loved ones coped with abusive relationships, but, at 14, she was molested by a family member.

"I had to go through the hurt secretly," she says, adding that when she first came out about the ordeal, she was told that she should keep it private. "I look at modeling as a savior, because [it allowed me] to leave and travel to Paris and New York when I could finally relax and be out of the abusive environment."

Still, after moving out of her mother's house at 17, the loneliness and pain caught up with White, who turned to cocaine as a way of dealing with her problems. About three years later, she overdosed.

"I was going to lose everything," she says of the time she saw her "whole life flash before me." "But I was lucky, because I came face to face with evil, and it wasn't something I liked seeing."

After taking off a few months to recuperate, White felt ready to repair the professional and personal relationships she'd damaged when she was using. Now, she says, she's off drugs and considers her mother to be her best friend.

"I truly am living out what true joy and happiness means," she says. "I'm in the best place possible."
