The Leftovers alumna Amanda Warren and Colin Woodell (Unsane) are set for starring roles opposite leads Gabriel Chavarria and Jessica Garza in the upcoming series The Purge for USA Network and Syfy.

The project comes from franchise creator James DeMonaco, Blumhouse Television — the TV division of the movies' producer Blumhouse Prods. — and Universal Cable Productions. The franchise, about the one day each year when murder and mayhem is legalized, hatched its highest-grossing effort so far with the most recent installment, 2016's The Purge: Election Year. DeMonaco oversees the series, which will be an entirely new chapter in America's 12 hours of annual lawlessness and is slated to launch in conjunction with the next installment in the movie franchise, The First Purge.

Warren will play Jane. A dedicated and hardworking finance professional who is convinced that she's hit an insurmountable glass ceiling at her firm, so she hires a Purge-assassin.

Woodell will portray Rick. After a lifetime of bootstrapping, he finally is climbing the social ladder. But currying favor with the pro-Purge elite presents unexpected challenges to his marriage, as he and his wife must agree on what moral price they'll pay to achieve the American dream.

The films' Platinum Dunes and DeMonaco's longtime producing partner Sebastien K. Lemercier will executive produce. Thomas Kelly serves as executive producer/showrunner of the series.

Warren, known for her role as Mayor Lucy Warburton on HBO's The Leftovers, most recently appeared in Oscar-nominated features Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and Roman J. Israel, Esq. Her recent TV credits include Netflix's Black Mirror, HBO's The Wizard of Lies and NBC's This Is Us. She's repped by Buchwald, MJ Management and Geoff Oblath.

Woodell played the series-regular role of Ethan Sinclair on Lifetime's Devious Maids and has recurred on Showtime's Masters of Sex and ABC's Designated Survivor, among others. He recently starred in the Geffen revival of Eugene O'Neill's A Long Day's Journey Into Night opposite Alfred Molina and can currently be seen in Steven Soderbergh's Unsane opposite Claire Foy.
