Vanessa Williams is set to star in Satan's Sisters, VH1's hourlong scripted drama series based on the 2011 book by Star Jones, one of the original co-hosts of The View.

The series centers on daytime TV talk show The Lunch Hour and the fireworks that ensue each weekday when the co-hosts discuss life, love, family, politics and gossip. Williams will play Maxine, the show's creator and host, a formidable, powerful and decisive woman who fears she's being put out to pasture. Slated for a 2017 premiere, the series will focus on Maxine and her co-hosts, five women with very different points of view. On the small screen they're best friends and colleagues. Behind the scenes, however, they're "Satan's Sisters" — an off-camera world filled with power struggles, personal demons, diva fits, love affairs, man troubles, cat fights…and cocktails.

Williams received three Emmys for her role as Wilhelmina Slater on Ugly Betty.  She was seen most recently in the final season of Desperate Housewives, ABC's 666 Park Avenue, in guest-starring roles on Royal Pains and The Good Wife and the Broadway, Los Angeles and Lifetime Television productions of The Trip to Bountiful, opposite Cicely Tyson.

Jones executive produces Satan's Sisters with Josh Berman (Drop Dead Diva, CSI), Suzanne de Passe (The Temptations, Lonesome Dove) & Madison Jones, and Susan Levison. Amy Engelberg and Wendy Engelberg write and exec produce. Suzanne Coston serves as co-executive producer. The series is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television.
