This property is no longer in the running to be Tyra Banks' home.
The America's Next Top Model star is parting ways with her Spanish colonial-style Beverly Hills mansion, asking a healthy $7.75 million for the posh pad. And considering the historic home's impressive credentials—6,000 square-feet, impressive hand-crafted architectural details, a gigantic master closet worthy of a Tyra-level supermodel, plus some celebrity significance—the home is practically a steal.
"I loved living in this house. The Stunning Spanish architecture spoke to me the minute I walked in the door. And then, when I discovered that the movie star, and companion to William Randolph Hearst, Marion Davies, was a previous owner, I was ecstatic. Why? Because she was financially savvy," Tyra told Sothebys. "As a businesswoman myself, starting my own self-funded cosmetics company, I was impressed."
And while the 41-year-old will undoubtedly miss the 1926-built mansion, she's not exactly moving across the country here—she'll be just a short drive away from her old Beverly Hills neighborhood in her new Malibu location.
"I did not expect to move, and was not looking for another home until I discovered a property in the Malibu Hills through a friend," Tyra said. "The decision to move was a difficult one after living in such a perfect neighborhood, in this home, with summer evenings in the outdoor living-room, and breezy afternoons with friends lounging by the pool, where we waxed poetic about how we imagined Davies and Hearst wined and dined in the many rooms we spent so many memorable moments in."
But before we say goodbye to Tyra's stunning home, there's one side note that must be mentioned: Did any other eagle eyes notice that every TV in the model's home was playing The Wizard of Oz? We got that she liked Davies, but who knew she was a Dorothy fanatic as well!
