Serena Williams is not dating Drake, despite reports they were seen looking very close at dinner, multiple sources tell Page Six.
The pair was photographed "making out" at Sotto restaurant in Cincinnati on Sunday, according to TMZ, just hours after he watched her win at the Women's Tennis Association tournament.
The world's top player and the 28-year-old Canadian rapper were seen sitting closely together in a private room at the back of the restaurant.
But a source told Page Six, "Serena briefly dated Drake around 2011 and even though it didn't end that well, they have remained friends since. He has been at her side at a lot of tournaments recently, including Wimbledon in July, where he sat in her box next to her sister Venus.
"Serena is single at the moment and is focused on winning the US Open, and making history."
Serena, 33, the most dominant player in the history of women's tennis enters next week's US Open on a high note after winning her fifth title of the year and the 69th of her career. She is aiming to become the first woman since 1988 to complete a calendar-year grand slam.
We are told Serena is working hard to keep her mind solely on tennis, and her team doesn't want Drake being a distraction from her winning at Flushing Meadows. The tournament starts next Monday.
Serena has also been recently linked to her coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, who has helped her to huge success, but the sources say they are also no longer romantically involved.
Following her split from Drake in 2011, the tennis player had said, "I do make mistakes — like every human does. But the last relationship was too much of a heartbreak for me."
But another source close to Drake said he and Serena "have been off and on for a while, they like each other but it is not anything serious. They are both too busy."
Reps for Williams and Drake didn't get back to us.
