Being one of the hottest designers of the '90s (you remember the '90s, right? When supermodels ruled the runway?), Isaac Mizrahi has worked with his fair share of leggy divas. And he just revealed the most troublesome of them all (hint: you aren't going to be shocked).
In the upcoming episode of Bravo's Fashion Queens, airing May 31, he spills on the one model who was a nightmare to work with. "Well, they all had their sort of difficulties," he shares. "I would say Naomi [Campbell] was not the easiest girl to work with."
The reason? You never knew if she was going to show up for, oh, you know, the runway show itself.
"You would do these long fittings on her, right. I promise you for hours, fitting, and she was very conscientious," he explains. "I guess if she had fun at the fitting, she liked the clothes, she would show up to the show," he explains. But Mizrahi never knew for sure until the last possible minute. "The day of the show I was a mess backstage," he says. "If she didn't like the clothes, things would end up very differently. Someone would come in advance and say, 'Oh, sorry, Naomi's not coming.' "
Considering he was the king of the design world, and she, the queen of the catwalk in the '90s, there were definitely positive aspects of their relationship. "She just had to show up and it was perfect."
The full episode of Fashion Queens airs on Bravo May 31 at 10 p.m. Tell us, will you be tuning in?
