Actress Tisha Campbell-Martin wants fans to know she is very much alive and kicking, contrary to recent tabloid reports claiming that the 42-year-old actress is dying from the lung disease sarcoidosis.
"Thank you, everyone, for your concern," Campbell-Martin said in a statement to PEOPLE, acknowledging that she does indeed have sarcoidosis.
"However, no worry is needed," the statement continues. "I was diagnosed with a lung disorder that some people walk around with and don't even know they have."
A mother of two, Campbell-Martin says she's had sarcoidosis for nearly 10 years.
"Through early diagnosis I'm happy to share that I stay healthy with diet and exercise," she says.
The disease has not affected Campbell-Martin's career, as she's recently starred in My Wife and Kids and, most recently, Rita Rocks. Her next project, the Lifetime police drama Exit 19, will debut later this year.
