The rest of the Spice Girls might seem pretty ambivalent about reuniting, but there's one member of the group who's totally for the idea: Mel B., formerly known as Scary Spice. While being interviewed on Alan Carr's "Chatty Man New Year's Eve" special, she suggests that she's completely in on the idea of meeting up with her fellow Spice Girls at some point in 2016 for some kind of reunion.
"It is our twentieth anniversary this year," Mel says, "And it would be rude not to celebrate. So hopefully something will be happening pretty soon," which heavily implies that a potential reunion special or tour could see all five members — with Sporty, Posh, Ginger and Baby joining her — back together in order to celebrate the 1996 debut of their hit single "Wannabe."
However, Mel B. demurred when asked for specifics, claiming that she's unable to tell anyone what the plans are … could that mean an official announcement is on its way?
However, it's not all good news for the fans of the pop group, since Mel B. also jokes, "I think I'm the one putting all the rumors out there," suggesting that there isn't any serious efforts in place yet by a music studio to make it happen.
But Mel is certainly doing her part. Just recently, she was spotted on Instagram with a few other members of the group, sparking rumors of a reunion.
She has her work cut out for her, but if there does wind up being a Spice Girls reunion, the once "Scariest" member will be the one for fans to thank.
