{blackbabes} Kerry Washington Is OPI's First 'Creative Ambassador' (Nailed It!)

Kerry Washington better make some more room in her makeup cabinet: After two years as the gorgeous face of Neutrogena, the actress is expanding her role in the beauty world to include nails, as she was just tapped as the new "creative ambassador" for nail brand, OPI.

So what will Washington's role as "creative ambassador" entail? To start, the star will co-design a line of lacquers with the brand's co-founder and creative director Suzi Weiss-Fischmann in 2016.

"Suzi's such a fierce female entrepreneur," Washington told WWD. "This is going to be a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to testing out new colors on the red carpet. The fun, for me, is that nail lives in the crossover space between fashion and beauty. I love to play with nail color on the red carpet and explore new shades."

And it's true — the actress loves showing off her manis on the red carpet (see examples here, here and here!).

Until her own line hits shelves in 2016, Washington has a few existing OPI favorites (Lincoln Park After Dark, Big Apple Red and You Don't Know Jacques), along with a celeb collaboration she's partial to: "I'm also a big fan of Gwen Stefani's line for OPI," she said. "She has done such a great job having her collection represent her — not just with OPI, but through everything she's done. If I can do something similar, I will be very happy."

And there's no doubt the star's line will be anything but. In her current role with Neutrogena, she's worked to expand the foundation color range, which, she says, is "something that was especially important to me, so that we'll be able to have a shade for every ethnicity."

The same goes for the line's lip shades, which, she says, she's also working on expanding.

"I want to increase access to beauty to women of all ethnicities," Washington told WWD. "Nude looks different depending on your skin tone and that's the fashion and beauty world I want to live in, where everyone has the ability to express the beauty that reflects them. I love being able to be an influencer in the space."
