{blackbabes} ‘Castle’s’ newest addition is there to get the job done, not make friends

Toks Olagundoye is Hayley in Castle

"Castle" Season 8 is gaining some new faces, but don't expect all of them to be warm and friendly. Toks Olagundoye joins the series as Hayley, an ambitious former cop turned security analyst whose latest case gets entangled with Beckett's (Stana Katic) disappearance.

However, Olagundoye is very upfront about the fact that Hayley isn't there to play nice or make new friends — she's there to finish a job.

"She's focused on work. She wants to get her job done. I know it's difficult when people are watching a show and new people come in and they want them to love these characters, [but] Hayley doesn't care," she explains to Zap2it. "She doesn't really have an opinion on anything. She just wants to do whatever she has to do to please her client and get her check."

It's also unclear what side of the fence Hayley is playing on, but that's also the point of her character.

"No one needs to trust her. I don't think they need to," Olagundoye explains. "I don't think she's necessarily concerned with that. She wants to get her job done for her client. She's not trying to make people trust her."

While she's not looking to join the team necessarily, she does have sympathy for Castle's (Nathan Fillion) quest to find his wife at any cost.

"It's a man wanting to find his wife. That's a beautiful thing. You have to feel for that. It's a man who just really wants to find the woman he loves. She just really wants to help him without damaging her case. She wants to make sure that no one dies," Olagundoye says. "She doesn't want anyone to die. As little as she cares about what's going on with anyone else, she still was a cop for a reason. Once a cop, always a cop in the way that at the very least you want people to be safe. It's a  man that's desperate to find his woman and that appeals to her."

While it's unclear exactly will fit into the puzzle long-term, you can expect her to pop up a lot more over the course of the season and she's getting mixed up with everyone.

"The fun thing is that I get to work with pretty much anyone. At any given moment I am hanging with someone else. You can expect Hayley to be hanging out with anybody doing anything at any time," she says.

"Castle" Season 8 premieres on Monday at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
