The star-studded list of performances for the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards continues!

E! News confirms that Nicki Minaj is the latest star slated to appear at the popular music awards show, airing Aug. 24, joining the likes of Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Beastie Boys, Peter Gabriel, Madonna, Michael Jackson, R.E.M., Red Hot Chili Peppers, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake.

"The VMAs is a pretty big deal so people go all out for it," Minaj said. "I am very, very excited and looking forward to the performance."

So what will the singer perform? Nicki will hit the stage with her alluring and pounding new single "Anaconda" for the first time from her highly anticipated album, The PinkPrint, due out later this year. Which leaves one more question—does that mean she's gonna get up there in a thong?!

After all, the "Anaconda" cover art is what everyone's talking about (and mimicking...hi, Miley Cyrus!).

The "Pill N Potions" singer sparked major controversy when she released the scandalous artwork for the new track. The dark-haired beauty left very little to the imagination when she posed for the camera in Air Jordans, a pink sports bra and a matching G-string! Regardless of the backlash, Minaj stood behind her decision to feature the racy snapshot.

"Well you know, in the beginning of my career, I did pictures like that, I did photo shoots like that," she told Ryan Seacrest this morning on his radio show. "And I didn't want to lose that sense of who I am."

"I feel like one of the people I look up to the most was Madonna, and she's never stopped pushing the envelope," she continued. "She's never stopped taking risks, and I don't ever want to stop doing that either."
