Jennifer Hudson named her new album after herself.

JHUD is "different expressions of me as an artist, a girl, a music lover," Hudson told WPGC, a Radio.com station. The album, set for release in mid-August, is a reflection of the past three years of her life, since her 2011 album, I Remember Me.

Her life revolves around her 4-year-old son, David Daniel Otunga Jr., who has been traveling with her since he graduated from preschool this year.

Hudson recently released a new single off the album, It's Your World, a collaboration with R.Kelly, which she first performed at this year's BET Awards.
