Jennifer Hudson woke up Tuesday morning feeling a little salty after learning she didn't receive a Tony nomination for her work in "The Color Purple."
"My presence was used for my celebrity, not my talent. I'm not surprised," Hudson, 34, tweeted to a fan about the snub, according to E! News. The tweet has since been deleted, but she did respond with a simple "Thank u anyways" to the concerned fan.
But the Tonys recognized her cast mates: "Orange Is the New Black" star Danielle Brooks earned a nomination for best performance by actress in a featured role in a musical while Cynthia Erivo was nominated for best performance by an actress in a leading role in a musical.
The musical, based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Alice Walker, was nominated for best revival of a musical and director John Doyle earned a nod for best direction of a musical.
Hudson congratulated Brooks and Erivo on Instagram saying, "Very proud and overwhelmed to say congrats to @cynthiaerivo @daniebb3 @color purple entire cast on tony nod! One hell of a cast that's for sure! Proud of u all!"
