Mariah Carey is set to wed Australian billionaire businessman James Packer, E! News reports.
Packer popped the question to the songstress on Thursday night, Jan. 21, in her hometown. Apparently, the engagement ring is somewhere around 35 carats.
An insider describes to E! News that the lovebirds are "head over heels in love with one another."
The couple began dating a little over a year ago, before her divorce was finalized with Nick Cannon. Carey met Packer in Aspen at a movie premiere in 2014.
"As soon as their friendship turned romantic, they have wanted to spend every moment together," the source adds. "They have a connection that is unparalleled; it's been a very beautiful experience for them both. If you spend even five minutes with them, you can't help but believe in true love."
A date has not yet been set for the pair's nuptials. This will be both Carey and Packer's third marriage. Carey has a set of 4-year-old twins with Cannon, Monroe and Moroccan; Packer has three children, Indigo, 7, Jackson, 5, and Emmanuelle, 3.
