"It has been overwhelming and the response has been very supportive, which is nice – but it still makes me a little uncomfortable," the singer, 23, tells Billboard for its new issue.
Gomez first opened up about undergoing chemotherapy in an interview Billboard published in October, explaining that treatment kept her from the limelight.
"I waited for the right time to talk about it because I am in a great place and I'm very healthy," she explains. "I'm not trying to be loud about it: it was time to use my platform to help.'
With chemotherapy behind her, Gomez has her sights set on a world tour in support of her new album Revival, out now.
All things considered, Gomez gives her 2015 a positive rating.
"A good 8," she says. "A lot of ups and downs, but they helped shape who I am."
