Rapper Azalea Banks was arrested outside a club in New York City's meatpacking district on Wednesday, Dec. 16, after she allegedly lost her cool and attacked a female security guard by punching her and "biting her in the boob," sources say to Page Six.
Banks was at the club, Up&Down, for a private party. After getting into an altercation with one of the bouncers, and spitting in her face, she was escorted out around 12:30 a.m. It was then, a witness says, Banks "[bit] the [female guard] in the breast, almost breaking her shirt." A police source says the bite "caused swelling and redness."
Banks arrived to the "invite only" party with an invited guest for the birthday of one of the club's owners, Ronnie Madra. "You needed a stamp to get in," a witness says, and when Banks was told she had to go back upstairs to get a stamp, she went berserk on the bouncers.
"There was a female security guard and a male guard," a source says, and they "didn't recognize Banks." The rapper started "screaming at the top of her lungs, cursing" and using racial slurs. When the club owner noticed, he "gave her a pass to let her in," but "once she was 15 feet inside she starts to curse at the guards again, explaining who she was, that she's on Rihanna's album."
Banks weirdly yelled, "I'm gonna call the cops!" once she was outside, and once she was arrested, asked, "Why are you arresting me?" According to police sources, the 24-year-old was taken to the 6th Precinct on a misdemeanor charge of third-degree assault and will be held there for evaluation.
This isn't the first time the "212" rapper has been in trouble with the law. In Sept, she was caught on video saying homophobic slurs to a flight attendant, calling him a "f—ing f—-t" after a French couple got in her way, delaying her exit off a Delta plane that had just landed in Los Angeles from New York City.
Then in Oct., while partying with friends at club Break Room 86 in Los Angeles, the rapper was investigated for allegedly jumping a security guard after she and her crew were asked to leave for their "unruly" behavior which led to Banks' attempt at pulling the fire alarm.
