Fans of River Island will now have luxe leather handbags to go with their see-through mesh tops and terry cloth onesies, or so rumor has it. According to a report in Grazia, Rihanna is expanding her fashion empire with a new accessories line called — ready for this? — $CHOOL KIlls. Here's what we know so far…
The latest issue of the magazine revealed that the singer is putting her music career on the back-burner in order to focus on her work as a designer. And not only that, her company (Roraj Trade, LLC) filed an application at the US Patent and Trademarks Office in May for an accessories line. Sources say $CHOOL KIlls will include leather products, tote bags and purses — and it'll eventually include clothing down the road.
Considering her fashion résumé, another line isn't all that surprising. Just this year, Rihanna collaborated on a collection of temporary tattoos with jewelry designer Jacquie Aiche, was tapped as the face of Dior and kept it real in a campaign for Puma Pulse XT sneakers. (She's the brand's Creative Director!) She's also won over the hearts of fashion's elite — on the same day, two top designers (Balmain's Creative Director Olivier Rousteing and shoe designer Manolo Blahnik) called her the "new Grace Kelly."
