Mariah Carey is looking and feeling good.

The singer was spotted flaunting a gracious amount of cleavage while rocking a black bikini and wetsuit during her Italian vacation today. Carey seemed to enjoy a dip in the water while on the beach in Sardinia, where she jet-skiied, built sand castles with her kids Monroe and Moroccan and spent some quality time with her new boyfriend James Packer.

The Australian billionaire and soulful singer began making headlines over the weekend when they were spotted hanging out together in Capri, and now E! News learns that although Carey was a little hesitant about pursuing Packer, things are going very well.

A source close to Mariah tells us, "He's close to Brett Ratner, who's one of Mariah's best friends," when explaining how the two met, and even noted that Carey said no to his first few date requests, but then decided to give it a shot.

"She finally agreed to spend some time getting to know him. They became friends and it sort of grew from there. She was hesitant at first because Nick Cannon really broke her heart. She also knows her judgment in men hasn't been so great in the past. But she's got a lot of mutual friends looking out for her on this one and she's really enjoying his company."

In fact, another source tells E! News that Mariah is "in a very happy place in her life."

The pair didn't shy away from some PDA, either, and were spotted walking hand in hand as they shopped for special items from local businesses over the weekend. "They looked happy, relaxed, soaking in the summer air with their smiles and sunglasses," an eyewitness told E! News. "They were both wearing beaming smiles on their faces."

Mariah posted a few snapshots of her international getaway on Instagram, and capped it earlier today with a photo of herself enjoying a boat ride and sunshine with the caption, "Arrivederci Italia!"
