Rick Famuyiwa, director of Sundance breakout Dope, has closed a deal to helm Confirmation, HBO Films' upcoming movie starring Scandal leading lady Kerry Washington as Anita Hill.

The film, set to begin production this summer, details the explosive 1991 Clarence Thomas-Anita Hill Supreme Court nomination hearings, which brought the country to a standstill and forever changed the way we think about sexual harassment, victims rights and modern-day race relations.

Susannah Grant wrote the script and is executive producing with Washington, Michael London and Janice Williams for HBO Films in association with ABC Signature and London and Williams' A Groundswell Production.
