It wasn't a high note ratings-wise, but Aaliyah: The Princess Of R&B certainly delivered for Lifetime on Saturday. The two-hour biopic of the burgeoning superstar who died in a 2001 plane crash at age 22 drew 3.2 million viewers on November 15. Among adults 18-49, Aaliyah pulled in 1.7 million viewers for Lifetime.

Aaliyah did much much better than the Unauthorized Saved By The Bell Story on September 1. That Monday night movie had 1.6 million total viewers, though 1.1 million of those were in the key demo. Among total viewers, Aaliyah is behind the 3.4 million who watched Lifetime's Petals On The Wind on May 26, but the biopic beat POTW in demo viewership, with the latter getting 1.5 million. However, Aaliyah came up short compared with the January 18 powerhouse Flowers In The Attic. The top cable movie this year in terms of the 18-49 demo, Flowers had 2.4 million watching. Overall, it got 6.1 million viewers.
