Fifty Shades Trilogy Bundle - E L James / Get Paid To Work From Home
It’s official: Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are married.
On Saturday, the couple exchanged vows in front of friends and family at the Forte di Belvedere in Florence, Italy, sources confirm.
Before walking down the aisle, Kardashian, 33, and West, 36, celebrated their nuptials in Europe, with family flying into Paris from across the globe. Guests received the same A-list treatment as the newlyweds including personal security and a mobile phone on arrival.
Noticeably absent were Jay-Z and Beyoncé, who are reportedly spending their weekend in the Hamptons. Adding insult to injury, Beyoncé posted a photo to Instagram showing off her new hairstyle around the time Kim was walking down the aisle.
Festivities included brunch at iconic designer Valentino Garavani’s château and a private tour of the Palace of Versailles (where the couple was refused permission to marry, according to a spokesman for the World Heritage Site, who said the rapper and reality star were not considered distinguished enough for an official ceremony at the landmark outside Paris).
It is the first marriage for West and the third for Kardashian.
West was previously engaged to designer and stylist, Alexis Phifer, but the pair split before making it to the altar in 2008.
Kardashian was previously married to music producer Damon Thomas from 2003 – 2004, and in 2011, wed professional basketball player, Kris Humphries. Their union lasted just 72 days before Kardashian filed for divorce from Humphries, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Kardashian’s divorce from Humphries played out in court, with him accusing the “Keeping up with the Kardashians” star of faking their relationship for the cameras. It was finalized in early June 2013.
On June 15, 2013, Kardashian and West welcomed daughter, North West.
The couple got engaged in October, when West executed an elaborate proposal at San Francisco’s AT&T Park.
First, the “Yeezus” rapper flew Kardashian’s entire family to San Francisco for what they thought was a birthday surprise for the reality star.
With her friends and family waiting in the dugouts, West led a blindfolded Kardashian onto the diamond where the Chicago Symphony Orchestra played Lana Del Rey’s “Young and Beautiful.”
Upon removing her blindfold, Kardashian was greeted by a display of fireworks before West dropped to one knee to ask her, “I just want to know if you’ll marry me?”
“Of course,” she answered, as he slipped a jaw-dropping 15-carat Lorraine Schwartz sparkler on her finger.
Much to the chagrin of the high fashion world, the couple landed the cover of Vogue in March.
In the spread, Kardashian wore several wedding inspired looks as she posed with her then-fiancé and baby daughter. The magazine cover lines read, “Kim & Kanye Their Fashionable Life and Surreal Times #WORLDSMOSTTALKEDABOUTCOUPLE” Kardashian took to Twitter to call the cover “a dream come true.”
