Hand Beyoncé a mike and the people will listen.

Mrs. Carter continued her victory lap this weekend, stopping by New York's School for Visual Arts for a screening of videos from her chart-topping visual album on Saturday night, according to the Associated Press.

"I've never done anything so brave in my life," Queen Bey told the crowd. "The amount of personal growth from this project is unlike anything I've ever done. I took all of my insecurities, all of my doubts, all of my fears, and everything I've learned, (and) I applied it into this project."

The pop diva goes on to talk about owning her imperfections, why she's proud to be a woman, and how motherhood has changed her perspective on life. She also answered a few questions from fans, submitted to her via Instagram videos.

"I really, really wanted to surprise people and for them to really just hear the art in it, not be about the hype and the promotion," Beyoncé said of her decision to surprise release the self-titled album on iTunes on Dec. 13. "We actually did it, and it says so much about my team."

She also name-dropped a few of her fellow superstars, saying how she wanted to follow in the "footsteps of Madonna" by choosing to manage herself and create her "own empire." In the studio, she recalls Justin Timberlake beating on buckets, which reminded her of "being in middle school during the lunch breaks when you just start freestyling."
