Nicki Minaj rocked Rockefeller Plaza this morning for the Today show. And she did it with a bruised vocal cord.

She tweeted after her first set of early songs, "Doctors orders. Out for the count now."

And she added, "Another x-ray cmng up! Its a bruised Vocal Chord. ... Jordin Sparks was praying for me backstage cuz she had a bruised vocal chord too! Haha! We were so dramatic!"

One person on Twitter suggested that Minaj "could make it less obvious that she's lip synching."

Yesterday, Minaj tweeted that she would have to take "two weeks" off to rest her voice. But she's still slated to appear at this weekend's V Festival in Britain.

It's a busy week for concerts on the Today show. On Wednesday, Carrie Underwood is scheduled to perform.
