Position:Java Developer with Datapower
Location:Charlotte NC
Duration:6 month contract possible extensions
Targeted Skills & Competencies:
Excellent knowledge of programming / systems analysis, as well as quality assurance, prototyping, construction, integration, and migration functions; possesses an excellent understanding of programming languages, development tools, and the current environment. • Displays problem solving and analytical skills, using them to resolve technical problems; possesses an excellent understanding of business requirements and IT strategies. • Draws on extensive knowledge base (e.g., infrastructure, technology, and applications) to analyze problems of the greatest complexity and contribute to troubleshooting efforts. • Leverages excellent design understanding and/or capabilities (e.g., database, application code, reusable objects, and interfaces) to optimize development efforts in a distributed environment, specially using Datapower to interface with external partners. • Adept at understanding operational nuances across multiple business units / functional areas / external partners.
Expected Responsibilities:
Develops using the Datapower appliance to manage and control integration with external partners; requires skills and experience with all objects of Datapower, such as multiprotocol gateway, web service proxy, logging, MQ interface. Highly skilled in XSLT. • Develops using the J2EE platform; also required are OOP paradigm skills, as well as experience with J2EE APIs, protocols and development of multi tiered applications. Examples of current J2EE application program interfaces (APIs) are EJB, JDBC, JMS, JNDI, JTA, etc. • Working with other teams, analyzing requirements and writing Technical Design Documents. • Taking lead in all the work with minimum supervision. • Evaluates and implements new initiatives on process improvement and technology initiatives. • Excels at analyzing functional needs that drive the analysis and technical design of quality technical solutions; recommends solutions that are aligned with business / IT strategies and complies with corporate architectural standards. • Serves as SME in all aspects of systems / applications software technology and / or application components. • Resolves application and technical problems of the highest complexity. • Analyzes performance and capacity issues of the highest complexity with systems / applications software and/or application components. • Continuously cultivates knowledge of emerging technologies. • May provide mentoring and training to less-experienced staff. • May design, implement and improve workflows. • Serves as initial point of escalation for all processing and operational issues. • Excels at working collaboratively with IT staff on development, troubleshooting, and other technical efforts. • Performs software architecture and systems design. • Translates business requirements into functional / technical specifications; oversees implementation of these specifications.
Suggested Experience & Qualifications:
Strong experience in XSLT, DataPower • Strong experience in web service and XML technologies like JAXB, XMLBeans, SOAP, XML Schema • Extensive experience in developing integration solutions using web services and RESTful services • Extensive experience in developing web services using SpringWS • Extensive experience in java programming language and understanding of including multi-threading, JVM, concurrency etc in JDK 4 and 5 • Solid experience in implementing core java and j2ee design patterns • Solid experience in development and deployment of enterprise J2EE applications including BEA weblogic clustered deployment • Solid experience in Spring framework, Ant, Junit • Experienced in using SpringWS as client • Good to have experience in Message Broker • Good to have experienced in Oracle Coherence or any other Distributed caching technologies • Good to have Experience in CA SiteMinder, IdentityManager • Good to have experience in front-end development(Struts, JSF, JSP, JSTL) • Good to have experience in Single Sign On technologies • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. • 8 plus years of IT work experience in systems programming / analysis • Typically experienced across multiple Information Technology areas and all system / applications software development. • Serves as point of escalation for complex issues.
