Job Title: Unix Administrator
Location: Lansing, MI
Duration: 3 to 9 months contract
Job Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
-Successful completion of an analytical aptitude test;
-Knowledge of AIX and Linux or Solaris operating systems and hardware;
-Developing processing standards and procedures for use by IT staff;
-Providing technical support to IT staff during systems design, development, and deployment;
-Understanding of personal computers operating systems and networking concepts;
-Assisting in coordinating software vendors and 3rd party software installs;
Production and customer focus.
Education and Experience Required
-Bachelors degree or equivalent experience and/or education;
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Details: Perl Scripting skills important, need to be able to manage their work, Senior candidates should be able to PM some too, Cultural Env is fast based, leading edge technology,planning to double server counts, very virtualized shop,
Automation, scripting, command line skills important.
They need to add 2 Unix contractors ASAP, the mgr. would be prefer a Mid and Senior level now, also would look at a junior with strong scritping skills, rates need to reflect experience. Must hit ground running.
-AIX or Linux experience;
-Experience with Storage Area Networks;
-Project Management experience;
-Programming experience; and
-Scripting languages (KSH or Perl)
