In a scene that could have been -- and probably was -- ripped straight from the pages of Robert Kirkman's comic books, Sunday's (March 18) Season 2 finale of "The Walking Dead" introduced one of the books' most iconic characters: Michonne.
She appeared, apparition like as Andrea (Laurie Holden) was about to get chomped by a zombie: A hooded figure wielding a samurai sword with two subdued armless walkers trailing her on chains:

"AMC has cast actress Danai Gurira (Treme/The Visitor) in the coveted role of Michonne in its original series, 'The Walking Dead.'" reads an AMC press release.
Gurira appeared as Jill on HBO's "Treme" and co-starred in the Oscar-nominated film, "The Visitor." On Friday, Michonne's origin story was published in Playboy.
What do you think of the casting?
