Former CSI: Miami star Khandi Alexander will guest-star on the upcoming first season USA's Common Law, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

The freshman dramedy, which premieres Friday, May 11 at 10/9c, tells the story of Travis Marks (Michael Ealy) and Wes Mitchell (Warren Kole), two sharp LAPD detectives whose partnership becomes so strained that Captain Mike Sutton (Jack McGee) sends them to see couples therapist Dr. Ryan (Sonya Walger).

Alexander will play Captain Sutton's long-suffering wife Helen, who joins her husband and his detectives in a group session. In fact, Sutton sends Wes and Travis to Dr. Ryan because she was able to work wonders for him and his wife

Perhaps best known for her role as Dr. Alexx Woods on CSI: Miami, Alexander's other small-screen credits include recurring roles on ER, NewsRadio and, most recently, ABC's Body of Proof. She currently stars on HBO's Treme.
