There's no shortage of heartfelt tributes to Whitney Houston following her shocking death two weeks ago, with celebs remembering the pop icon in prose, in song and on stage.

One star who reportedly paid homage to Houston? Jermaine Jackson.

News surfaced last week that Michael Jackson's older brother released a song dedicated exclusively to her, titled "The First Time You Love."

The two were good friends—ET even has this video of the duo singing a duet back in 1984.

A musical tribute from Jackson would certainly be poetic, if only it wasn't…

So false!

Although a press release went out last week announcing that Jackson was dedicating "The First Time You Love" to the late pop star (and that the song was available on iTunes), he claims it was sent without his knowledge.

Jackson released this statement today to set the record straight:

"I would like to make clear that no such song was ever approved by me. Further, I have not, and will not, receive any monies for it…This song was recorded more than three years ago. No one informed me, and nor did I sign any permissions, for it ever to be commercially released. After making strong reservations to those responsible, I have today been assured that the process has started to remove this song from iTunes."

Guess we'll just have to make do for now with that video of them.
