RESPONSIBILITIES
Translate business requirements into tangible data requirements through collaborative work with business, developers and architects
Responsible for the development, care, and maintenance of Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Models using standard data modeling tools
Document and maintain enterprise metadata by using best practices and tools
Develop object definitions that are clear and concise, and that represent singular concepts
Generate and maintain Database DDL
Collaborate with Database Administrators to develop optimal Physical Designs for target Database
Assist application developers with building SQL statements that enhance application performance
Perform data analysis and data profiling for optimal data designs

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED
Experience with large scale and high volume online transaction processing systems
Knowledge of database lifecycle design and application development
Experience with data modeling including conceptual, logical & physical data modeling
Have good hands on experience with Industry modeling tools like CA ERwin Model Manager
Experience with IBM Mainframe DB2 is a plus
Knowledge of IBM IDA (Infosphere data architect) and or RSA (Rational Software Architect) tools are a plus
Experience writing high performing SQL is preferred
Experienced with data analysis, data profiling and reverse engineering of data
Must possess a high-level of attention to details
Very strong verbal/written communications and presentation skills as well as confidence and presence with IT and business
Must work well independently and in a collaborative team environment
Product model experience is a plus4

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related area of study.
Someone with extensive experience with relational databases and relational data modeling for OLTP systems. This individual should have good communication skills both written and verbal that can also lead JAD sessions, and in some cases assist the business analysts in gathering requirements. This candidate would be responsible for translating business requirements into logical and physical database models, perform data analysis and assist application developers with SQL programming. The individual should be comfortable working on several projects simultaneously.
