{babes} Halle Berry 'miserable' over split

LOS ANGELES -- Montreal model Gabriel Aubry's baby mama Halle Berry apparently isn't taking their split very well, despite having plenty of men lining up to date her.

Berry, the gorgeous actress from Monster's Ball, "is looking really miserable, I've never seen her like this," says a paparazzo photographer source whose been snapping her picture for years.

Moreover, the source says when she came home on a recent early morning after what he thought was probably a date -- she's been rumoured to have been seeing at least two different men -- she drove slowly into the driveway of her Beverly Hills mansion "wiping her eyes with a tissue like she'd been crying."

Photos of the 43-year-old actress taken since she and Aubry split -- officially it was in late April, but they had been estranged for months -- show what appears to be a tightly wound Berry either frowning or grimacing.

"I used to say, 'Hey Halle, give us a smile' and she would, she'd stop and pose and give us this beamer. Now I say, 'Hey Halle, where's that smile?' and she doesn't even try, it's like she's too miserable to even try," the photographer says.

If this means that Berry is missing Aubry (the first decent guy who didn't cheat on her) and wants him back, it's tough luck. Aubry, 34, won't be going back. At least not any time soon.

Despite numerous rumours the two might get back together for the sake of their toddler daughter Nahla, (they now split custody 50/50) my source maintains that "Gabriel is done."

I originally reported the pair broke up because Berry -- whose first two husbands cheated on her, a humiliation for anyone let alone one of the most beautiful women in the world -- made life difficult for Aubry because of her insecurities.

"She'd constantly harp on him, 'Where have you been?' or 'Why did you look at that girl' and 'I know you're going to cheat on me so go ahead', " my source said. "That kind of stuff really kills a relationship, especially since Gabriel never once even thought about cheating on her. The mistrust really got under his skin and living with her became a constant battle that just wore him out."

Berry is scheduled to start filming Dark Tide in South Africa this month. Although it has been reported that Aubry will go with her in order to watch Nahla, my source says Aubry is taking the pretty baby to Montreal for at least a few weeks this summer to spend time with his family.

OH, BABY: OK, Alanis, where's that baby bump?

Now that Canadian rocker Alanis Morissette, 36, had a quickie home wedding May 22 to rapper Souleye, 30, whom she'd been dating for less than a year, the inevitable question now being posed by the gossip media is: "When's the baby due?"

Morisette was cornered by some paparazzi a couple of weeks ago in L.A. and the only question being shouted at her was, "Did you get married because you're pregnant?" and "When's the baby coming?"

As usual, Morissette smiled wide, laughed and said nothing.

Whether she's pregnant or not, gossip magazines have a pretty big bounty out to paps for some kind of exclusive movement in Morissette's tummy.

Even if she'd just had a big lunch and there's a lump of food in there, mark my words, if someone gets a photo of anything other than her usually flat abs, the screaming headline will be "Alanis' Baby Bump!"
