Bill Cosby's TV daughter said she came to court to support him on the first day of his sexual assault trial because "ultimately, it's about standing by your truth."
Keshia Knight Pulliam, who played Cosby's youngest daughter Rudy Huxtable on "The Cosby Show," stuck by "America's Dad" all day at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Norristown, Pa., where he's charged with drugging and molesting former Temple University employee Andrea Constand in 2004.
"I want to be the person that I would like to have if the tables were turned," said Knight Pulliam after court ended for the day. "Right now it's the jury's job and the jury's decision to determine guilt or innocence. It's not mine or anyone else's."
Knight Pulliam — who arrived with Cosby early in the morning and helped guide him to the courthouse from his car — said she's praying for all parties involved.
She never said whether she believed Cosby was innocent.
"I don't condone sexual assault in any way, shape or form, but, at the end of the day, our court system is set up … you're innocent until proven guilty," she said. "The job now is for the two sides to prove their cases and I accept whatever verdict is handed down."
Cosby showed his thanks to Knight Pulliam by tweeting out a picture of the two smiling during a break in the trial.
He also tweeted, "#TheCosbyShow #KeshiaKnightPulliam #CameToCourtToHearTheTruth."
