Tika Sumpter is going to be a mom! The actress sported a visible baby bump at the Southside With You press conference in Los Angeles on Friday.
Sumpter, who stars in OWN's The Haves and Have Nots, is expecting her first child – a daughter – this fall, a source close to the actress confirms. "She's super happy," the source tells PEOPLE.
Also on Friday, Sumpter, 36, confirmed her pregnancy on Instagram and Twitter. "Preggers and promoting w Legend. Happy and proud. #Southsidewithyou #Aug26th @johnlegend," she captioned her selfie with the film's executive producer John Legend.In her new film, Sumpter portrays young Chicago lawyer Michelle Robinson Obama, decades before she became the beloved First Lady of the United States. The romantic drama focuses on Michelle's first date with then-associate Barack Obama in 1989 and their first kiss outside an ice cream parlor.
Southside with You hits theaters August 26.
