Girlfriends alumna Golden Brooks is set to co-star opposite Damon Wayans Sr. in Lethal Weapon, Fox's hourlong pilot based on the hit buddy cop action comedy movie franchise.

In the pilot, written by Matt Miller and directed by McG, when Texas cop and former Navy SEAL Martin Riggs suffers the loss of his wife and baby, he moves to Los Angeles to start anew. There, he is partnered with LAPD detective Roger Murtaugh (Wayans), who, having recently suffered a "minor" heart attack, must avoid stress in his life.

Brooks will play Roger's hardworking, perceptive and loving wife Trish, who worries about him and is not thrilled when she hears about his new adrenaline-crazed partner. In the movies, Trish was played by Darlene Love and Roger by Danny Glover.

Miller, McG, Dan Lin and Jennifer Gwartz executive produce the pilot for Warner Bros. TV and Lin Pictures.

Brooks, who co-starred on Girlfriends for eight seasons and recurred on the CW's Hart Of Dixie, currently recurs on Starz's Blunt Talk and filmed a recurring role in Freeform's Nicki Minaj comedy pilot. She is repped by Primary Wave Entertainment and Global Artists Agency.
