    Looking for an experienced Flex/FlexBuilder developer for a 3 month+
    contract in Kansas City. If interested,
    This person will need to have 2 to 5 years hands on experience with Adobe
    Flex 3 and Flex Builder.
    PHP and Java knowledge would be a plus.
    This person needs to have delivered some solutions instead of just learning
    from the text book.
    They are looking for someone that is independent and able to hit the ground
    running.

    Ideal candidate will have first had a solid Java background and then learned

    Location:Bethesda, MD
    Duration:12+ months
     
    Skills required:
    HPUX 11.11 on PA-risc
    Vpar -- moderate skill (Not huge amount of work on this)
    Icod -- moderate skills (not much to do with this. but we use it)
    ServiceGuard (good solid understanding.. real world experience)
    SAN storage, preferably in an EMC environment. (do not need SAN management
    skills.. just understanding)
    LVM
    An understanding of Oracle (need not be a DBA, customer has DBA's)
    SH/KSH scripting
    Knowledge of the following is helpful: MQ, Tivoli workload scheduler,
    NetBackup, CIFS/Samba
    Ability to work in structured environment with change control and
    significant process.
     
    Typical migration will involve:
    Work with application support teams to identify application components
    (filesystems, permissions/security, software, users, LVM volumes, network
    config, etc)
    Prepare new environment (create users, install software, etc)
    Use LVM to export/import volumes between machines.
    If clustered, implement into cluster package on new machine
    Support application teams with issues during testing
    If clustered, test failover

    Provide Unix systems administration, technical guidance and leadership as a
    senior member of a team supporting mission-critical administrative and
    academic servers in a dynamic 24/7 data center environment.
     
    Essential Duties
    1. Administer performance, reliability and security for over 500 Linux and
    AIX servers providing services in support of the university mission of
    teaching, research and clinical care.
    2. Install, configure and maintain operating systems, applications and tools
    including RedHat, AIX, Kickstart, NIM, Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, MySQL,
    OpenLdap, Ruby on Rails, and OpenVZ.
    3. Partner with application owners on deployment and strategic planning for
    their applications.
    4. Coordinate the resolution of problems and issues in collaboration with
    application developers, database administrators, service providers and data
    center operators.
    5. Provide technical leadership to the team across several areas of
    expertise.

    8. Some off-shift work with rotating on-call coverage.
     
    Education and Experience
    1. Bachelors Degree and six years of experience supporting production
    Unix/Linux in a 24/7 environment, or equivalent combination of education and

    Additional Education and Experience
    1. Deep technical knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems, applications
    and tools.
    2. Preferred: Experience installing, configuring and tuning Apache, Tomcat,
    JBoss, and Ruby on Rails; Experience with automated installation,
    configuration management and monitoring such as Kickstart, Cfengine,
    Tripwire and Nagios; Experience with server virtualization, HA,
    load-balancing and clustering technologies; Experience with NIM installing
    and supporting AIX LPARs; Experience supporting servers running Oracle
    database applications.
     
    Skills & Abilities
    1. Demonstrated ability to identify strategic directions and influence
    change.
    2. Ability to work independently, as a team member or as a team leader in a
    complex and collaborative environment.
    3. Demonstrated proficiency writing advanced scripts in Shell or Perl.
