One of Hollywood's most famous showbiz families lives in a gargantuan estate not in Bel-Air, but in Malibu.
Dad was inspired to build the 25,000-square-foot adobe-style house for his wife and three kids after visiting a former costar's home in New Mexico.
Can you guess which multitalented clan lives under this big roof?
And yes, you read that right—25,000 square feet!
It's Will and Jada Pinkett Smith and their children, Willow, Jaden and Trey, the Men in Black star's son from his first marriage.
Will hired architect Stephen Samuelson to design the home after seeing what he did for his Enemy of the State costar Gene Hackman. "Gene loves Sante Fe," Will says in the new issue of Architectural Digest (out Aug. 9). "He has a house there, and he always talked about it. And then Wild Wild West came up, and we were shooting outside of Sante Fe. So I thought, Let me go see Gene's house. I just loved that adobe flavor and feeling."
The Smiths reportedly bought the 100-acre property for $5.7 million. It includes a private lake.
"For Will and me this home was always a spiritual endeavor," Jada says. "We're very earthy, organic people. We want to create a family retreat, something made by hand and as natural as possible, something that ties back to the land."
Hundreds of master craftspeople were hired for the project. "Everything needed to be done by hand," Will says. "We wanted to feel the love and labor that went into every piece of this place."
And have plenty of room to whip their hair back, of course.
