Wendy Raquel Robinson ("The Game," "The Steve Harvey Show") has been cast in a recurring role on the new CBS sitcom "Poppa's House," which stars father-son duo Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr.
Per the official logline for the series: "Legendary talk radio host and happily divorced 'Poppa' (Wayans) has his point of view challenged at work when a new female co-host (Essence Atkins) is hired, and at home where he finds himself still parenting his adult son (Wayans Jr.), a brilliant dreamer who is trying to pursue his passion while being a responsible father and husband."
Robinson will portray Poppa's ex-wife and Junior's mom. Additional confirmed cast for the series includes Tetona Jackson as Nina, Junior's wife.
In sitcom "The Game," Robinson played Tasha Mack, the mother and manager of Malik Wright (Hosea Chanchez), a star football quarterback on a fictional professional football team. She also portrayed Principal Regina Grier-Maddox on "The Steve Harvey Show."
Robinson has appeared in films like "Two Can Play at That Game," Martin Lawrence's "A Thin Line Between Love and Hate" and "Miss Congeniality."
The actor made her debut in 1993 on an episode of "Martin," and later guested on shows like "The Sinbad Show," "Thea," "All of Us" and "The Parkers". Off screen, Robinson co-founded the Amazing Grace Conservatory, a school dedicated to the arts for youth in Los Angeles. She serves as artistic director of the conservatory, which she co-founded with late actor Tracy Lamar Coley.
Robinson is represented by Talent Works and Artist Collective Entertainment.
