The Carmichael Show alumna Amber Stevens West is set as the female lead opposite Damon Wayans Jr. and Felix Mallard in CBS' multi-camera comedy pilot from writers Tim McAuliffe and Austen Earl and The Late Late Show with James Corden executive producer Ben Winston. West's casting is in second position to the Fox comedy series Ghosted where she is series regular.
Written by McAuliffe and Earl, the untitled comedy revolves around Peter (Wayans) and Claire (West), a thirtysomething couple who are tired of their mundane life and start to reconnect with their younger, cooler selves when an emerging pop star (Mallard), who is drawn to their super-normal suburban life, moves in.
West's Claire is happily married to Peter (Wayans), the business manager of 20-year-old music superstar Cooper (Mallard). She's a little concerned when Cooper comes to stay with them, particularly since Cooper's exuberant young personality and lifestyle are a big contrast to their more tame and settled one.
Chris Parnell also co-stars in the pilot.
McAuliffe and Earl executive produce with Winston via Fulwell 73 and 3 Arts Entertainment's Michael Rotenberg and Jonathan Berry for CBS TV Studios.
West starred as Maxine oppsite Jerrod Carmichael on all three seasons of NBC's The Carmichael Show and plays Annie on Ghosted, which is on the bubble for renewal at Fox, with its second batch of episodes yet to be scheduled. She also had a lead role in feature 22 Jump Street. West is repped by UTA and Red Baron Management.
