Underground alumna Amirah Vann has landed a recurring role in USA Network's Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G. true-crime anthology series, from Universal Cable Productions.
Written by Kyle Long, Unsolved chronicles the dual police investigations of Detective Greg Kading (Josh Duhamel) and Detective Russell Poole (Jimmi Simpson) into the controversial murders of two of the rap industry's most legendary players, Tupac Shakur (Marcc Rose) and The Notorious B.I.G. (Wavyy Jonez).
Vann will play FBI Agent Justine Simon, the youngest and only female member of the 2006 task force; something she's used to and never lets get in her way.
Anthony Hemingway (The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story) directs and executive produces along with Mark Taylor through their Hemingway | Taylor production company. Long executive produces. Former LAPD Detective Greg Kading, who worked on the 2006 investigation into the murders, will also serve as co-executive producer.
Vann is best known for her role as Ernestine in Underground, which wrapped its second and final season in May. She currently recurs as Tegan Price on How To Get Away With Murder. Other credits include a recurring arc on Major Crimes, and roles on Law & Order: SVU, Girls, Mozart in the Jungle, and features Tracers and And So It Goes. Vann is repped by CESD and Jeremy Katz at The Katz Company.
