The gods are shining on actress Viola Davis. Before the star snagged an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in "Fences" in February, she found a buyer for her home in Granada Hills, Calif., in mid-December.
We don't see too many celebrity homes out at this northern outpost of the San Fernando Valley, but Davis's former suburban pad now comes complete with an A-list pedigree. The price to follow in her footsteps? Only $1.15 million, a little less than the $1.17 million she dished out for it in 2005, according to Variety.
The five-bedroom, 4.5-bath, beige brick and stucco house sits cheek-by-jowl with its neighbors. The home features a two-story foyer, curved staircase, dark hardwood floors and a living room with gas fireplace and large windows.
The newly remodeled kitchen, with dark cabinets and light stone countertops, has a center work island that separates it from a breakfast space and family room with built-in wet bar. The master suite boasts a double-sided fireplace and separate sitting room. The quarter-acre lot also includes a saltwater swimming pool with waterfall.
Davis, who stars on TV"s "How to Get Away With Murder" traded up real estate-wise last year by buying a $5.7 million, 7,500-square-foot Tuscan-style villa in Toluca Lake.
