The world has embraced Serena Williams' engagement news, but it appears the tennis ace has yet to process it.
"I really haven't thought about it too much, because I wasn't even really gonna think about it until after the tournament," Williams said Monday during a press conference at the Australian Open. "So, I just keep saying, 'February, I'll start looking at the bigger picture of my life.' But right now I'm just so focused that this is all I can think about."
Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian popped the question to Williams, 35, last year in Rome, where the couple first met. She announced her engagement via the Reddit subthread, "isaidyes."
"It feels good," Williams gushed of her engagement.
With the tournament set to wrap Jan. 29, Williams and "nice" guy Ohanian will have plenty of time to plan their big day.
"He's incredibly — a really nice person," she said of her fiancé. "I think he definitely treats everyone the same, which is really cool to see. Really, really nice to see."
Ohanian was spotted at the Open on Tuesday as Williams bested Switzerland's Belinda Bencic in the first round.
