Condola Rashad has joined the cast of Netflix's Come Sunday, the film that stars Chiwetel Ejiofor in the true story of a renowned evangelical minister in Tulsa, OK, who stirs up controversy with his revelation that there is no hell. Joshua Marston is directing the pic, which was penned by Marcus Hinchey based on a 2005 This American Life radio episode. Endgame Entertainment's James. D Stern is producing alongside This American Life's Ira Glass and Alissa Shipp.
Rashad will play Gina, the wife of Carlton Pearson (Ejiofor). It reunites her with Marston after they worked together on this year's Complete Unknown, which he directed and co-wrote. Amazon and IFC Films acquired the pic toplined by Michael Shannon and Rachel Weisz after its Sundance premiere and it hit theaters in August.
The two-time Tony Award nominee for her featured roles in Stick Fly and The Trip to Bountiful is back on Broadway in the spring for A Doll's House, Part 2 opposite Chris Cooper and Laurie Metcalf, directed by Fun Home's Sam Gold and produced by Scott Rudin. Coming off starring in the indie Bikini, she also is a regular on Showtime's Billions, which returns for Season 2 in February.
