Viola Davis won't be channeling Anastasia Steele on the new season of "How to Get Away with Murder."
"I told them no more sex scenes," the actress said during an appearance Monday on "Ellen."
Davis, 51, who has headlined the Shonda Rimes series since 2014, put her foot down about shooting risqué scenes after sustaining several injuries.
"They threw me up against the wall in the first season and I threw my back out for two weeks — and my hip," Davis explained. "So I limped around for two weeks and I said, 'No more walls.'"
If Davis had it her way, the "Fifty Shades" element of the show would be greatly reduced.
"I just want to be on a bed and I don't want to move," Davis said. "I don't want anyone on top of me and I don't want to be on top of anyone else."
Despite her demanding schedule, Davis isn't all work and no play, particularly where daughter Genesis is concerned. The Emmy winner also revealed her 6-year-old, whom she adopted with husband Julian Tennon in 2011, has become a member of Beyoncé's Beyhive. When Davis and Tennon told her she couldn't see the singer live, Genesis put on the performance of a lifetime.
"She said, 'You don't know what "Lemonade" means to me, Mommy. You don't know what Beyoncé means to my life,'" Davis recalled.
Given that Genesis is an aspiring actress, she's got the dramatic chops down pat. But as Davis told her daughter, there's more to the limelight than reciting lines.
"You better remember how to go to school, and then at 18, you need to remember how to get out of the house and pay your own bills," she quipped.
"How to Get Away with Murder" returns Thursday, Sept. 22.
