"I guess I just spent my whole life on gymnastics, gymnastics, gymnastics," Douglas tells PEOPLE while visiting Children's Hospital Los Angeles on Tuesday. "Gymnastics at one point is going to come to an end, and I think that's with everything, unless you want to keep pursuing whatever and that's totally fine, but I spent my whole life in the gym."
"Everyone's like, 'What do you want to do life after gymnastics?'" she continues. "For me, I would love to get into doing a couple of roles here and there, like acting, hosting, stuff like that."
"It was a lot of fun," Douglas, 20, says of the competition. "I really didn't know what to expect because that was my first time judging a pageant show."
Last month, Douglas missed presenting at the MTV Video Music Awards after she was admitted to the hospital, but the gymnast assures that she's doing "so much better."
"I just had a cyst growing in my mouth and they caught it," she explains. "I went to the dentist. They drained it. Removed it. So it's all good. I'm feeling so much better."
Now back in action, Douglas is thinking more about being "on the TV screen" in the future, but admits she doesn't really have any dream jobs in mind yet.
"I don't know," says Douglas. "I guess it would be so new. There's so many things to branch off into I just really don't know."
However, it seems fans shouldn't count Douglas out of competing professionally.
"I'm going into tennis actually," jokes Douglas. "The US Open. I'm going to play doubles with Serena [Williams].
