Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney have called off their engagement. TMZ reports that the couple split earlier this month after five years together.

The couple met in 2011 on the set of Gaga's music video for "You and I," in which Kinney co-starred. Kinney was dating another woman at the time, and his ex claims the Golden Globe winner and Chicago Fire star began an affair shortly after.

Gaga and Kinney have never been shy about flaunting their love in the years since. Kinney proposed to the singer on Valentine's Day 2015 with a massive heart-shaped diamond ring that has "T (heart) S" written in diamonds on the band. The following year, the couple had sex on a paint canvas -- one of Kinney's longtime dreams -- for V Magazine.

"We made love on the canvas on a Sunday in Chicago," Gaga said at the time. "We made love amidst chaos. We talked about shootings. We made love amidst terrorism and we talked about how people's hearts are also suffering all over the world as they watch and witness a swell of violence. We made love amidst violence."

Neither Gaga, 30, nor Kinney have commented on the split, but the American Horror Story: Hotel star was photographed without her engagement ring on Friday, which was Kinney's 35th birthday.
