Thandie Newton, Kenneth Choi, Harry Treadaway, Michael Angarano and Yul Vazquez have been added to the cast of Nash Edgerton's untitled dark comedy that's now shooting in Chicago. They join David Oyelowo, Charlize Theron, Joel Edgerton and Amanda Seyfried in the indie, which Amazon Studios is financing and will distribute theatrically as that outfit ramps up its original productions.
The project was known as American Express when it was first announced ahead of Cannes 2014. Plot details are still being kept under wraps, but Anthony Tambakis (Joel Edgerton's Warrior) and Matt Stone wrote the script. Rebecca Yeldham, Edgerton, A.J. Dix, Beth Kono and Tambakis are producing. Trish Hofmann is executive producing.
Production will segue to Mexico City and Veracruz in April.
Nash Edgerton, also a well known stuntman and stunt coordinator, made his feature-length directorial debut with the 2008 Aussie thriller The Square.
