A star of Showtime's Billions and lauded Broadway actress (Romeo and Juliet, The Trip To Bountiful, Stick Fly, as well as Ruined off-Broadway) Condola Rashad will play the title role in the independent pic Bikini Sunshine, written and to be directed by Spirit Award winner Milcho Manchevsk. Anja Wedell and Munire Armstrong are set to produce.
Bikini is described as a charismatic, mercurial and troubled former Marine who returns from Iraq and inadvertently becomes the center of a documentary film while she tries to integrate herself back in society as well as regain custody of her young daughter.
Rashad plays Kate Sacher in Billions opposite Damian Lewis and Paul Giamatti. She will next be seen in the Sony movie Money Monster, with George Clooney, directed by Jodie Foster. Recently, Rashad appeared in Joshua Marston's film Complete Unknown with Michael Shannon and Rachel Weisz, which premiered at Sundance and was acquired by Amazon Studios.
