DeWanda Wise is set as a series regular opposite Sanaa Lathan in Fox event series Shots Fired. From Gina Prince-Bythewood and Brian Grazer, Shots Fired examines the dangerous aftermath of racially charged shootings in a small town in Tennessee. Wise will play Shameeka Campbell, who lives in "the houses," one of the worst parts of town. She opens up to the prosecutors about her son being killed by police and how they threatened to arrest her if she talked. Wise is coming off a starring role in Sundance pic How To Tell You're A Douchebag. She's repped by Stone Manners Salners Agency, Bold Management and attorney Neil Meyer.
Adina Porter (True Blood, The Newsroom) has booked a series regular role on ABC's murder-trial drama pilot The Jury. Written by VJ Boyd and Mark Bianculli and executive produced by Carol Mendelsohn, The Jury examines "the ultimate social experiment" that happens thousands of times a day in the U.S.: A person's fate is placed in the hands of 12 strangers. The series follows a single murder trial a season as seen through the eyes of the individual jurors, exploring the biases and experiences that influence their judgment and how their preconceptions change along the way. Porter will play Angela, a mother of three who works two jobs to support an unemployed husband battling clinical depression — and her kids who are living a comfortable middle-class life unaware that the family is massively in debt. Porter, repped by TalentWorks and manager Heidi L. Ifft, appears on The CW's The 100 and the upcoming WGN original series Underground.
